Street Based Sex Workers
Who are they?

A street based sex worker is someone who finds their clients by either picking them up, or being picked up off the streets. They may provide services in a car, park, unit, brothel, hotel, strip clubs, or in the case of street based workers in Kings Cross, they may use 'Safe Houses'.
What it means to be a Street Based Sex Worker and what you can expect...

- you will generally speak directly to the lady, however in some cases you may speak to a ladies minder or fellow sex worker who is her friend. The vast majority of ladies however handle all their own enquiries and negotiate for themselves.
- you will generally make a booking with the lady herself unless she employs a minder or has a minder and prefers to do things that way (as can often be the case with the ladies working Darlinghurst Rd in Kings Cross working out the front of Strip Clubs and brothel).
- You can expect a street based worker to dictate where the service will be provided. She will have a certain routine set up and a preferred place to work.
- You can expect a street based worker to be wary of you. This is because workers are often harassed by Police, local residences and businesses, other clients, people driving and walking past.
- If Police spot you, you can expect to be harassed by them even if you're talking to a sex worker in an area where it is legal for her to be working
How do you find a street based sex worker?

- street based sex workers will generally be located in very specific locations working in the same area as each other. In NSW they can be found in Kings Cross, Canterbury Road, and Great Western Highway Mount Druitt.
- to find where workers currently are, I would advise looking at forums that specialise in your local State. Sensualdownunder has a very comprehensive thread on street based sex work, where girls are currently active and at what times.
- street based sex workers will either be working in legal or illegal areas (depending if there are any legal areas in your State). It is legal to do street based work in NSW as long as a worker is not within view of a school, hospital, place of worship (church) or in an area zoned as residential. This means it is legal for workers to be working on Great Western Highway Mt Druitt, Canterbury Road, William Street and Darlinghurst Road Kings Cross. This can get complicated however in certain areas. For example it is legal for ladies to work on Canterbury Road, however a Church rented a shop window in a shop front and put a sign up saying "Church Place of Worship", meaning any lady working within view of that shop window was now working illegally. Police and locals do get together ocassionally to pull these kind of tricks to try and thwart street based ladies.
How do you book a lady?

- there are laws around this issue in regards to soliciting. For more information on soliciting and how it can effect you as a street based worker or as a client of a lady, please have a look here: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/journals/AltLJ/1999/14.html
- basically to book one you approach a lady either in a car or on foot and have a discussion about her availability, pricing and where the service is to be provided. During this negotiation the lady and yourself have the time to work out whether or not you want to see each other.
- when negotiating price be sure to discuss the extra price of renting a room in a Safe House if the service is to be provided there.
- Once a service, price and location has been agreed upon, you go ahead with the booking
Car Jobs

- it is illegal to perform a sexual service in a car
- if you get caught performing or having a sexual service in a car there are multiple things you can be charged with including public indecency, having sex in public, wreckless driving etc
- if the Police see you trolling for a sex worker in a car or catch you in a car with a sex worker, expect your car to be completely searched, warrnt checks to be done, a move on order to be issued (they ban you from an area for a period of time at the discretion of the Police Officer), you may be strip searched on the spot or taken back to the Police Station to be searched, your car will be checked for defects and defect notices issued (be careful to have all the blinkers on your car working and the tyres better not be to wide etc). They generally do this to harass people into not coming back to the area whether it is legal to be there or not.
Sex in a Park

- expect to receive the same treatment as above for car jobs and add on charges of trespass etc
Sex in a hotel room or your private residence

- completely legal so enjoy :)
Sex in the ladies private residence

- completely legal, HOWEVER... as with independent private workers you'd find with a website, she needs to have Council DA and Strata Approval (if in Strata Units) to work from a private residence
- A lady is not allowed to have children on premesis when she is working. Children are not allowed to be anywhere a sexual service is being provided.
Using a Safe House

- Safe Houses are located in the Kings Cross Area and are frequently used by street based ladies
- They are houses (with appropriate Council DA) set up similar to how the short stay hotel rooms were. The way they work is the lady takes you to a safe house, she gets the cost of the room from you or you can directly pay the manager of the Safe House. This charge is extra on top of the rate you negotiated to see her for a sexual service. The lady then takes you to the room she has been given, the sexual service is performed, she will either walk you out or you can leave by yourself. The lady then goes back up to the street to wait for her next job.
- It is completely legal for ladies to provide sexual services from a Safe House and for you to receive one.
- These places are a machine - they are very well set up, very well maintained and very well managed. Life goes smoothly and professionaly if using a Safe House. They provide a certain level of security for ladies and gents alike.
